Arvind Bolar is a household name in coastal Karnataka. With his comic timings and punching dialogues Arvind has made his own space in coastal drama industry as well as Tulu Cinema industry.
Arvind never dreamt of becoming an actor, but his persistence to achieve something in life brought him to the drama industry. Born in a poor family Arvind’s academical studies was curtailed when he was in sixth standard. But he proved his talent in Drama industry.
Born to Krishnappa and Sundari in Bajal, Arvind had attraction towards drama industry since childhood. With the guidance of mentor Raghava K Ullal, `Brahmana Baravu’ was the debut drama of Arvind Bolar. Later he worked along with two big names of Tulu drama and film industry, Devdas Kapikad and Vijaya Kumar Kodialbail. His acting in dramas like Maamu, Parvathy, Seetha Teacher and many others brought him name and fame.
He has acted in more than 300 dramas in Kannada, Tulu and in other languages and has given more than 10,000 shows. He has fan followers in countries like Dubai, Qatar, Bahrain, Muscat and in many other countries.
He also tried his hand in Yakshagana. With the guidance of his Guru Ashok Kodikal, Arvind debut in `Krishna Leele’ Yakshagana. His acting was appreciated in that yakshagana. So far he has acted in 10 yakshaganas. ‘Bengda Mantravadi’ of Sunkadakatte mela brought him name in yakshagana field.
With his immense talent Arvind was destined to enter film industry. Though his first silver screen debut was marked by Kannada movie `Onde Ondsari’. He has acted in more than 15 Tulu movies since then. Films like Chaali Polilu, Chandikori, Ekka Saka are some of the films he had acted in. With so many Tulu films lined up in 2016 for release, Arvind Bolar is a busy man.
His talent has earned him Kannada Rajyotsava award. With more than 500 honours and titles like Sadhaneya Saradar and Tuluva Maanikya, he is the most down to earth actor in Tulu film industry. Tulu drama and film industry and the Tulu audience are lucky to have a personality like Arvind Bolar.
